Page 1 of 3 1 RESOLUTION NO. 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN 3 OF BAY HARBOR ISLANDS, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE 4 EXPENDITURE FOR THE ACQUISITION OF FIVE (5) 5 CHEVROLET TAHOE POLICE VEHICLES PURSUANT TO 6 THE POLICE DEPARTMENT FIVE-YEAR FLEET 7 REPLACEMENT PLAN; AUTHORIZING PROCUREMENT 8 THROUGH A COOPERATIVE PURCHASING PROGRAM; 9 PROVIDING FOR IMPLEMENTATION; AND PROVIDING 10 FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. 11 12 WHEREAS, the Police Department requires reliable and sufficient fleet vehicles to 13 support its authorized staffing and operational needs; and 14 WHEREAS, the Department currently operates an aging fleet with a portion 15 exceeding nine (9) years of service and 100,000 miles, and has recently decommissioned 16 several vehicles; and 17 WHEREAS, the acquisition of five (5) Chevrolet Tahoe vehicles is necessary to 18 replace aging vehicles, support incoming personnel, and maintain operational readiness; 19 and 20 WHEREAS, the total cost for the acquisition, including lease-to-own agreements 21 and vehicle configurations, is $427,145.80; and 22 WHEREAS, funding for the acquisition will be provided through available salary 23 savings within the Law Enforcement Budget; and 24 WHEREAS, procurement will be conducted through Sourcewell’s cooperative 25 purchasing program in compliance with applicable purchasing requirements. 26
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE 27 TOWN OF BAY HARBOR ISLANDS, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: 28 Section 1. The foregoing recitals are incorporated herein as true and correct. Page 2 of 3 29 Section 2. The Town Council hereby approves the expenditure in an amount not 30 to exceed $427,145.80 for the acquisition of five (5) Chevrolet Tahoe police vehicles. 31 Section 3. The Town Council hereby authorizes procurement through 32 Sourcewell’s cooperative purchasing program. 33 Section 4.
