A.-1. 26-1004 Presentation of a Proclamation declaring February 10, 2026 as "Snows Jewelers Day" in Coral Gables. The City Commission proclaimed February 10, 2026, as Snows Jewelers Day, honoring the family-owned business for over five decades of service on Miracle Mile. The proclamation highlighted Judy Snow’s groundbreaking achievement as Florida’s first female graduate gemologist in 1978 and the store’s reputation for exceptional craftsmanship and customer service. Eddie Snow reflected on the business’s resilience through economic downturns, recessions, and even an armed robbery, sharing anecdotes that illustrated the store’s deep roots in Coral Gables. He announced plans to transition to a concierge jewelry service after the storefront closes in April 2026, ensuring continuity of service for loyal customers. The City of Coral Gables formally committed to participating in Keep America Beautiful’s Greatest American Cleanup as part of America’s 250th anniversary celebrations. The declaration outlined plans for at least three community cleanups, two recycling or beautification events, and one celebration event between March and July 2026. Staff detailed upcoming initiatives, including a sustainability village at the farmers market, invasive species removal at Pinewood Cemetery, Earth Month activities, and a recycling drive-through on April 25.
