PERSONAL APPEARANCES Matt Anderson, Assistant Director of Sustainability and Mobility speaks on a range of topics related to mobility and sustainability throughout the city. The presentation began with a brief background on the Sustainability Management Plan and progress to date. The presentation touched on green building/ energy efficiency, the city's EV fleet, the trolley system and recent upgrades, resiliency, water quality, waste diversion/ recycling and the Keep Coral Gables Beautiful Affiliate programs and events. MEMBERS SHARE INPUT FROM RESIDENTS None UPDATES ON CITY INITIATES Staff provided the following updates: - Crypto Currency - Staff determined the benefit was not great enough for the expense, but will continue to track the issue and is well positioned to accept crypto in the future when it becomes more common. City has a crypto wallet and domain names. - Coral Gables High School - Staff met on-site with board member Kurzner and agree sidewalks and crosswalks are needed. Thought is to replace planter strip with sidewalks along Riviera and install crosswalks at Altara. A pedestrian gate will need to be coordinated with the school to align with crosswalks. - Mayor’s History Project - Historic images of mayors will be digitized and placed on city website. Additionally, the images and plaque with past commissioners will be assembled to salute 100-years of leadership.
