Reorganize city administration departments in Code of Ordinances

Second reading and public hearing of proposed ordinance amending Chapter 2 entitled "Administration," Article II, entitled "Departments, Offices and Divisions," Division 6, entitled "Public Works Department," Division 10, entitled "Community Development Department," Division 11, entitled "Streets Department," Division 14, entitled "Construction and Maintenance Department," Division 15, entitled "Fleet Department," of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Hialeah, specifically by: (1) collapsing the Public Works Department, the Streets Department, the Construction and Maintenance Department, and the Fleet Department into one newly created department entitled Infrastructure and Asset Management Department; (2) renaming the Community Development Director to Chief Development Officer; and (3) creating a Transit Section within the Planning Division; providing for a severability clause; repealing all ordinances in conflict herewith, and providing for an effective date. On March 10, 2026, the City Council approved the item on first reading. Second reading and public hearing is scheduled for March 24, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. .
