A resolution of the mayor and city commission of the city of miami beach, florida, authorizing the allocation of an additional $81,000 to the city's prekindergarten scholarship program (the "program") for 2025-26 school year in fiscal year 2025 to allow each of the 27 waitlisted families receive up to $3,000 in scholarship funds; further, directing the administration to increase the number of available prekindergarten scholarships in the program from 192 to 225 for future school years, effective in fiscal year 2026, representing an additional increase in the budget in the amount of $99,000 to meet the demonstrated demand and interest from the city's residents, with the total funding in FY 2026 and future years being $675,000 to provide 225 scholarships of up to $3,000 each; and further, waive, by 5/7th vote, the requirement in section 2-14(d)(1)a of the city code to refer any resiliency committee.
