City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com City of Miami Legislation Resolution File Number: 17644 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION EXTENDING THE TEN (10) DAY PER ORGANIZATION, PER YEAR SPECIAL EVENT MAXIMUM WAIVER FOR EVENTS ON THE PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 52/ARTICLE I OF THE CODE OF CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, TITLED, “SPECIAL EVENTS/SPECIAL EVENTS PERMIT” FOR THE DOWNTOWN CUP SPECIAL EVENT BEING HELD CURRENTLY THROUGH JUNE 18, 2025. WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 52-2(h)(1) of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended ("City Code"), titled “Special Events in General; Duration and Limitations; City Commission Waiver,” Special Events on the public right of way shall be permitted up to ten (10) calendar days per organization, per year; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 52-2(i), “The above limitations on Special Events may be waived by an affirmative vote of the City Commission for the calendar year affected. Any such additional Permit(s), however, will be limited to fourteen (14) consecutive days at a time; and WHEREAS, Julia and Henry’s (“Event Holder”), a downtown business, received a limitation wavier pursuant to R-25-0132 on April 10, 2025 to hold the Downtown Cup (“Event”) through May 25, 2025; and WHEREAS, the Event has been a great success and wishes to extend its time through June 18, 2025; and WHEREAS the Event will still be held on East Flagler Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues (“Event Site”); and WHEREAS, the Event at the Event Site will be beneficial to the City’s residents and visitors;

NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. Pursuant to Section 52-2(i) titled “Special Events in General; Duration and Limitations; City Commission Waiver”, the ten (10) day limitation per organization, per year for a Special Event pursuant to Section 52-2(h)(1) is hereby waived and extended for the Event through June 18, 2025. Section 3. This Resolution does not waive any other requirements of the City Code, including but not limited to, noise restrictions, applicable fees, inspections, and permits. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption. APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS:
