AS THE INTERIM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE TRUST ON A TEMPORARY BASIS WITH TERMS AND CONDITIONS AS SET FORTH HEREIN. WHEREAS, the Bayfront Park Management Trust ("Trust") was established pursuant to Ordinance No. 10348 as a limited agency and instrumentality of the City of Miami ("City"); and WHEREAS, the Trust is tasked with directing, operating, managing, and maintaining all aspects of the City-owned properties known as Bayfront Park and Maurice Ferre Park for the purposes of ensuring maximum community utilization and enjoyment; and WHEREAS, Section 38-105 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended (“City Code”), provides that the position of the Executive Director of the Trust shall be selected by the Trust and approved by the City Commission; and WHEREAS, Section 38-105 of the City Code further provides that the salary of the Executive Director shall be set by the Trust and approved by the City Commission; and WHEREAS, the Assistant City Manager for the City of Miami, which was temporarily serving in the role as Interim Executive Director of the Trust, is no longer available to serve in the position of Interim Executive Director; and WHEREAS, the vacancy presents an emergency for the Trust as an Executive Director is necessary for the continued and effective operations of the Trust; and WHEREAS, Raul Miro, Jr. is currently the Special Assistant to the City Commissioner for District 1, and with permission from the District 1 Commissioner, has agreed to serve on a temporary basis as Interim Executive Director of the Trust for no additional compensation until such time as a permanent Executive Director is selected; and WHEREAS, on April 14, 2025, the Trust unanimously voted to appoint Raul Miro, Jr., as the Interim Executive Director of the Trust for no additional monetary compensation;

NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The Trust's appointment of Raul Miro, Jr., as the Interim Executive Director of the Trust with the terms and conditions of employment agreed upon by the Trust is hereby ratified, confirmed, and approved, and Raul Miro, Jr. shall fulfill the role of Interim Executive Director of the Trust at his current compensation, and shall resume his duties in the District 1 Commission Office upon the expiration thereof.
