Authorize agreement with Wausau Tile for SW 120 Street custom bench

RESOLUTION NO. 2026- A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF PINECREST, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH WAUSAU TILE FOR FABRICATION AND INSTALLATION OF A CUSTOM BENCH STRUCTURE FOR THE SW 120 STREET BEAUTIFICATION PROJECT; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Wausau Tile is the sole vendor of the fabrication and installation of a Custom Bench Structure for the SW 120 Street Beautification Project; and WHEREAS, the Village Manager wishes to enter into an agreement with Wausau Tile for the fabrication and installation of a Custom Bench Structure for the SW 120 Street Beautification Project;

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF PINECREST, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the Village Council hereby authorizes the Village Manager to enter into the attached agreement with Wausau Tile for the fabrication and installation of a Custom Bench Structure for the SW 120 Street Beautification Project, in amount not to exceed $24,821.62. As explained in my email to the Village Council dated May 26, 2026, this request constitutes an after-the-fact authorization for the purchase, fabrication, and installation of a custom bench that was necessary to maintain the project schedule for the art installation. Further, the bench feature requires footers that must be constructed simultaneously with the footers for the sculpture, which already has a scheduled delivery date. The custom curved precast concrete bench is a key site feature for the Old Cutler Road/120th Art Project. The bench will measure approximately 22 feet, 5 inches along the curve and will include a ground and polished concrete finish. The installation will provide durable, permanent seating that complements the sculpture area and supports the overall project design. Accordingly, I respectfully recommend that the Village Council adopt the attached resolution authorizing the Village Manager to waive the requirements of the Procurement Code for the fabrication and installation of the custom precast concrete bench by Wausau Tile in the amount of $24,821.62.
