DATE: March 6, 2024 TO: Yocelyn Galiano, ICMA-CM, Village Manager FROM: Chief Jason Cohen RE: Installation of “No Parking” signs: SW 57 Ave. I am recommending the installation of “No Parking” signs along SW 57th Ave, from SW 102nd St. to SW 101 St. Cars parked along this stretch of the 57th Ave. may block the view of oncoming traffic from the north, making the corner of 102nd st and 57th ave a potential hazard. “No Parking” signs will enable the Police Department to warn and/or ticket violators with the goal being changing the behavior and eliminating parking in this area, creating a safer intersection. RESOLUTION NO. 2024- A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF PINECREST, FLORIDA, ADOPTING PARKING RESTRICTIONS ALONG SOUTHWEST 57 AVE, FROM SOUTHWEST 102 STREET TO SOUTHWEST 101 STREET, PURSUANT TO ORDINANCE 2001-6; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Village Manager has recommended parking restrictions along Southwest 57 Ave, from Southwest 102 Street to Southwest 101 Street; and WHEREAS, the Village Council finds that adopting the Village Manager’s recommendation is in the best interest of the safety and welfare of the citizens and residents of the Village of Pinecrest;
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF PINECREST, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the following parking restrictions are hereby adopted pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance 2001-6: Parking shall be restricted on the specified roadway as follows: (1) Parking shall be prohibited along Southwest 57 Ave, from Southwest 102 Street to Southwest 101 Street. Section 2. This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of March, 2024. _____________________________ Joseph M.
