Approve $705,781 in-car camera systems for police vehicles

RESOLUTION NO. 2023- A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF PINECREST, FLORIDA, WAIVING THE COMPETITIVE BID REQUIREMENTS AND AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH SAFE FLEET FOR IN-CAR CAMERA SYSTEMS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Village Council approved the purchase police vehicles and accompanying equipment through the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) with the Police Benevolent Association representing the Police Officers and Police Sergeants; and WHEREAS, the in-car camera systems are needed to fulfill the take-home vehicle requirement in the CBA; WHEREAS, Safe Fleet is the sole source of the in-car camera systems;

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF PINECREST, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the Village Council hereby waives the procurement code requirements for competitive bidding for expenditures more than $50,000 and authorizes the Village Manager to execute an agreement with Safe Fleet, for the purchase of sixteen (16) in-car camera systems at a rate of $5,713.85 per camera system.
