WHEREAS,Rabbi Jeremy Barras joined Temple Beth Am and has led the congregation since 2015; and Whereas, Temple Beth Am has played a vital role for Pinecrest’s Jewish residents and the entire community since its founding in 1955, and is now one of the largest Reform congregations in the United States, with more than 1,800 member families; and Whereas, Rabbi Jeremy Barras has provided spiritual guidance and inspiration to thousands of Pinecrest residents and to the community as a whole; and Whereas, through Rabbi Jeremy Barras’s leadership, Temple Beth Am has continued to thrive as a cultural and educational center in Pinecrest, with an extremely successful day school and a new Hub facility for arts, performances, and popular sports programs; and Whereas, although a native of Pennsylvania - where he has remained admirably loyal to his boyhood sports teams - Rabbi Jeremy Barras has become a central leader in Pinecrest, where he has lived with his wife Jodi and two children;
Now, therefore, I, Joseph M. Corradino, Mayor of the Village of Pinecrest, Florida, on behalf of the Village Council and its citizens, do hereby proclaim this 9th day of January, 2026, as: Rabbi Jeremy Barras Day In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Village Clerk to affix the Seal of the Village of Pinecrest, Florida, this 9th day of January, 2026, and do hereby encourage all residents to join me in honoring Bet Am’s Rabbi Jeremy Barras for ten years of service in the Pinecrest community.
