Recognize Constitution Day anniversary

WHEREAS,on September 17, 1787, our Founding Fathers signed the Constitution of the United States establishing a framework for the foundation of our Nation’s Prosperity and liberties; and Whereas, this historic document is of central importance to our Nation and represents the timeless and enduring truths that inform the basic institutions of the American republic; and Whereas, it is fitting and proper to accord official recognition to this magnificent document and its memorable anniversary; and to the patriotic celebrations which all commemorate the occasion; and Whereas, in 1956, Constitution Week was commemorated by President Dwight D. Eisenhower from September 17 through September 23 and intended to be celebrated annually; and Whereas, Constitution Week in the Village of Pinecrest provides our residents opportunities to learn about the Constitution of the United States and reflect upon the unique principles of our great Nation;

Now, therefore, I, Joseph M. Corradino, Mayor of the Village of Pinecrest, Florida, on behalf of the Village Council and its citizens, do hereby proclaim the week of September 17—23, 2025 as U.S. Constitution Week In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Village Clerk to affix the Seal of the Village of Pinecrest, Florida this 13th day of September 2025 and do hereby encourage all citizens of the Village of Pinecrest to join me in reaffirming the ideals of the framers of the Constitution by vigilantly protecting the freedoms guaranteed to us by the Constitution of the United States of America and express gratitude for the privilege of American citizenship. _________________ Joseph M. Corradino Whereas, hunger and food insecurity affect families and individuals across our community, making access to nutritious food a pressing need; and Whereas, the Porch Pinecrest brings neighbors together by collecting non-perishable food items directly from front porches, making it simple and convenient for everyone to participate; and Whereas, this initiative strengthens community bonds by encouraging residents to unite in service and generosity,; and Whereas, the food collected through Porch Pinecrest supports local food banks and organizations, ensuring that donations reach families in need; and Whereas, the spirit of the Porch Pinecrest reflects the values of caring, kindness, and civic responsibility that make our community strong;

Now, therefore, I, Joseph M. Corradino, Mayor of the Village of Pinecrest, Florida, on behalf of the Village Council and its citizens, do hereby proclaim September 16, 2025 as PORCH Pinecrest Day In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Village Clerk to affix the Seal of the Village of Pinecrest, Florida this 16th day of September, 2025 and do hereby encourage all citizens of the Village of Pinecrest to join me in recognition of their outstanding achievements and invaluable contributions to the community. _________________ Joseph M. Corradino Mayor Whereas, Alzheimer’s disease, a progressive neurodegenerative brain disorder, tragically robs individuals of their memories and leads to progressive mental and physical impairments; and Whereas, 7.2 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease, including an estimated 500,000 under age 65 living with younger-onset Alzheimer’s disease; included in this number are an estimated 580,000 individuals in the State of Florida of which an estimated 76,000 reside in Miami- Dade County; and Whereas, Miami-Dade County has the number one prevalence for Alzheimer’s in the entire country, with over 16 % of the 65 and over population living with Alzheimer’s; and Whereas, Miami-Dade County has the number one prevalence for Alzheimer’s in the entire country, with over 16 % of the 65 and over population living with Alzheimer’s; and Whereas, Alzheimer’s is the seventh leading cause of death in America; and Whereas, Alzheimer’s disease is the only cause of death among the top ten causes of death in America that cannot be prevented, cured or even slowed; and Whereas, in 2025 in the United States, nearly 12 million caregivers provided an estimated 18 billion hours of unpaid care valued at more than 413 billion dollars; in Florida, over 870,000 caregivers provided over 1.4 billion hours of unpaid care valued at an estimated 29 billion dollars; and Whereas, Alzheimer’s disease is one of the most expensive disease in the United States and in 2025 the direct costs to American society of caring for those with Alzheimer’s disease will total an estimated 413 billion dollars; and Whereas, the human cost of Alzheimer’s disease is immeasurable and in recognition of the individuals, families, friends, and caregivers dealing with Alzheimer’s disease, the researchers who are seeking a cause or cure; and Whereas, the Village of Pinecrest recognizes the efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association to raise funds and promote awareness to fight Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders, thereby improving the quality of human life for those living with Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers.

Now, therefore, I, Joseph M.
