Authorize $275,032 amendment with H&R Paving for water construction

RESOLUTION NO. 2023- A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF PINECREST, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO AN AGREEMENT WITH H&R PAVING, INC., FOR THE POTABLE WATER CONSTRUCTION PROJECT; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF PINECREST, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the Village Council hereby authorizes the Village Manager to execute the attached amendment to the agreement with H&R Paving, Inc. for the potable water project. Section 2. This request for a change order covers the additional pipe necessary to complete the Potable Water Project and represents the difference between the bid quantity and the pipe quantity added after the contract was awarded due to Miami- Dade Water and Sewer Department permit requirements. The unit price for the pipe represented in this change order request is the same as the previously Council approved adjusted price from Change Order 1. Due to market volatility and supply chain issues the price was increased to $43.79 per unit for standard pipe and $47.69 per unit for coated zinc pipe. I hereby respectfully recommend the Village Council adopt the attached resolution authorizing the Village Manager to execute a change order with H&R Paving in the amount of $275,032 to cover the additional cost of the potable water project due to project changes that arose during the permitting process with the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department.
