Award $991,110 to Star Paving for SW 70th Avenue drainage project

RESOLUTION NO. 2022- A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF PINECREST, FLORIDA, AWARDING A BID TO STAR PAVING CORPORATION FOR THE SW 70TH AVENUE DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Village issued an Invitation to Bid for the “SW 70TH Avenue Drainage Improvements” project; and WHEREAS, sealed proposals were received by the published deadline; and WHEREAS, Star Paving Corporation submitted the most responsive proposal;

NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF PINECREST, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the Village Council hereby determines that Star Paving Corporation has submitted the most responsive bid and hereby authorizes the Village Manager to enter into an agreement with said firm for the furnishing of all labor, materials, tools, equipment, machinery, superintendence, and services necessary for the completion of the project as detailed in the SW 70th Avenue Drainage Improvements Project Invitation to Bid packet in an amount not to exceed $808,815.00. The project includes installation of exfiltration trench, drainage catch basins and drainage pipes. As a result of the ITB, the following four (4) bids were received by the September 2, 2022 deadline: Homestead Concrete and Drainage $905,012.96 Star Paving Corporation $808,815.00 A.D.A. Engineering $927,615.00 BASILE USA $991,109.51 Based upon staff’s evaluation of the proposals, I hereby respectfully recommend the Village Council adopt the attached resolution awarding the contract for the SW 70TH Avenue Drainage Improvements to the lowest Bidder, Star Paving Corporation contractor in the amount of $808,815.00.
