Award $101,200 bid to Shovel Construction for gardens shelter addition

DATE: September 3, 2024 TO: The Honorable Mayor and Members of the Village Council FROM: Yocelyn Galiano, ICMA-CM, Village Manager RE: Resolution Awarding Pinecrest Gardens Animatronics Shelter Addition The Village published an Invitation to Bid (ITB) for the Pinecrest Gardens Animatronics Shelter Addition project. The project includes addition of a new roof, timber and concrete column with coral rock cladding. As a result of the ITB, the following three (3) bids were received by the July 26, 2024 deadline: Shovel Construction $52,021.77 Sun Eagle General Contractors $75,000.00 Waypoint Contracting $101,200.00 Based upon staff’s evaluation of the proposals, I hereby respectfully recommend the Village Council adopt the attached resolution awarding the contract for the Pinecrest Gardens Animatronics Shelter Addition project to the lowest Bidder, Shovel Construction, in the amount of $52,021.00. RESOLUTION NO. 2024- A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF PINECREST, FLORIDA, AWARDING A BID TO SHOVEL CONSTRUCTION FOR THE PINECREST GARDENS ANIMATRONICS SHELTER ADDITION PROJECT; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Village issued an Invitation to Bid for the “Pinecrest Gardens Animatronics Shelter Addition” project; and WHEREAS, sealed proposals were received by the published deadline; and WHEREAS, Shovel Construction submitted the most responsive proposal;

NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF PINECREST, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the Village Council hereby determines that Gemstone Builders has submitted the most responsive bid and hereby authorizes the Village Manager to enter into an agreement with said firm for the furnishing of all labor, materials, tools, equipment, machinery, superintendence, and services necessary for the completion of the project as detailed in the Pinecrest Gardens Animatronics Shelter Addition Project Invitation to Bid packet in an amount not to exceed $52,021.77. Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 10th day of September, 2024. Joseph M.
