Award $100,000 grant to Two Hundred Club of Greater Miami

About Us Home / About Us   Apply For Membership Home About Us Events Photo Gallery News Contact Us  Mission Statement The purpose of the Two Hundred Club is to benefit the families of law enforcement officers and fire fighters when such officers or fire fighters have lost their lives in the line of duty. The Two Hundred Club functions for the benefit of all law enforcement and fire personnel in Miami-Dade County, including employees of local, state, and federal jurisdictions. The procedure of the Two Hundred Club is to give the spouse of a deceased officer or fire fighter a check for $25,000 as soon as appropriate after the death occurs, and to give each dependent child $5,000. Additionally, the Club provides an annual birthday remembrance totaling $300 to each dependent child (defined as blood, adopted, or de facto child) through their 17th birthday, and a $5000 gift on their 18th birthday. Some years ago, The Two Hundred Club established a trust fund in the amount of $100,000 for the formation of the Police Officer’s Assistance Trust (POAT), an organization which meets the needs of law enforcement personnel in times of personal problems.
