DATE: July 2, 2024 TO: The Honorable Mayor and Members of the Village Council FROM: Yocelyn Galiano, ICMA-CM, Village Manager RE: Implementation of the Village of Pinecrest On-Demand (Freebee) Transit Service Enhancement Following the Award of Florida Department of Transportation Service Development Program Grant, FM: 453980-1-84-01. The Village of Pinecrest applied and was awarded the Florida Department of Transportation, SPY 2025, grant for the Florida Department of Transportation Service Development Program. This award requires the agency to match the provided State funds with local funds. Also, it is required that the agency implements an enhancements or augmentation to their current level of services. Currently, the Freebee operates three (3) vehicles from Monday to Friday and two (2) vehicles on Saturday in the Village. The Village worked together with Freebee to identify areas to effectively improve the service. As a result, service on Saturdays from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. is being recommended to add a third vehicle in order to reduce the breach between requested and completed rides. SECRETARY www.fdot.gov October 9, 2023 Ms. Angela Gasca Village of Pinecrest 12645 Pinecrest Parkway Miami, FL 33156 SUBJECT: NOTICE OF GRANT AWARD (NOGA) - SFY 2025 PUBLIC TRANSIT SERVICE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM APPLICATION FM: 453980-1-84-01 Dear Ms. Gasca, The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) conducted an evaluation of your submitted proposal per Sections 341.051, 20.23(3)(a) and 334.048(3), Florida Statutes (F.S.), and Rule Chapter 14-73, Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.), Public Transportation. Based on the established criteria and available funding sources, the Village of Pinecrest has been awarded Service Development Program funds for the below project: Please be advised that the funding award cited above requires local funds from the Village of Pinecrest to match the State funds programmed for this project. Therefore, please provide certification of available local funds in the amount of $144,332.00 to the District no later than January 1, 2024. Funding is subject to the availability of an annual appropriation by the Florida Legislature (the spending authority). Prior to commencement of any work or services, the Village of Pinecrest must enter into a State Funded Agreement with FDOT.
