Accept $65,000 donation for police firearms training system

RESOLUTION NO. 2022- A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF PINECREST, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING A DONATION FROM THE MOSKOWITZ FAMILY FOUNDATION OF FUNDS FOR POLICE FIREARMS AND ACTIVE SHOOTER FIREARMS TRAINING SIMULATION SYSTEM AND ACCOMPANYING ACCESSORIES PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION 2016-36; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF PINECREST, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the Village Council hereby accepts a donation from The Moskowitz Family Foundation, in the amount of $65,000 for police firearms and active shooter firearm simulation training equipment and the accompanying accessories, pursuant to Resolution 2016- 36. Pinecrest residents, Adam and Jessica Moskowitz, through their foundation, The Moskowitz Family Foundation, have offered to donate funds to the Pinecrest Police Department. The donation will be used to purchase an active shooter firearm simulation training system as well as new duty pistols and holsters for the entire police force. The Moskowitz Family Foundation was established by Adam and Jessica Moskowitz, in order to provide a vehicle for their family to fund and support, special and important non-for-profit organizations and charities. Adam established The Moskowitz Law Firm, which is a law firm specializing in Class Action Litigation, whose main goal and purpose is to undertake and fight on behalf of individual class members where they need the strength and support of a class action device to seek any justice. Jessica and Adam, residents of the Village of Pinecrest, believe they have an obligation to "give back" much of those proceeds to their community. I humbly ask for the Council’s approval of the Moskowitz’ offer to donate the funds necessary to purchase these items that will cost $65,000.00.
