Authorize contract with Kimley-Horn for GIS mapping and database services

RESOLUTION NO. 2023- A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF PINECREST, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH KIMLEY-HORN FOR GIS MAPPING, DATABASE MANAGEMENT, AND OTHER APPLICATIONS PROFESSIONAL SERVICES; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, City of DeBary, Florida conducted a competitive bidding process for the procurement of Professional Engineering Services and awarded a bid to Kimley-Horn and Associates; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-287 of the Code of Ordinances, the Village Manager is authorized to execute contracts, as entered into by other governmental authorities, provided that the governmental authority has followed a competitive bidding procedure leading to the award of the bid or contract in question; and WHEREAS, the Village Manager wishes to enter into a contract with Kimley-Horn and Associates for GIS Mapping, Database Management, and Other Applications Professional Services;

NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF PINECREST, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the Village Council hereby authorizes the Village Manager, pursuant to Section 2-287 of the Code of Ordinances, to “piggyback” on an existing contract between City of DeBary and Kimley-Horn (Contract/Bid No. RQG-Q 06-20), and enter into an agreement with Kimley-Horn; for GIS Mapping, Database Management, and Other Applications Professional Services. This agreement was procured by a way of competitive process in compliance with the Florida Consultants Competitive Negotiation Act (287.055, Fla. Stat.) This contract will be used for GIS Mapping for various department, as well as, for the Village’s website redesign project. I hereby respectfully recommend the Village Council adopt the attached resolution authorizing the piggy-back contract for the provision of GIS Mapping, Database Management, and Other Applications Professional Services.
