DATE: March 6, 2024 TO: Yocelyn Galiano, ICMA-CM, Village Manager FROM: Chief Jason Cohen RE: Installation of “No stopping or Standing Signs” SW 64 court I am recommending the installation of “No Stopping or Standing” signs along SW 64 court from SW 88 St. to SW 92nd St. Gulliver Preparatory School parents are using this stretch of 64 court as an impromptu carpool lane to avoid having to enter the school grounds. Vehicles begin parking on swales approximately 30 minutes prior to school dismissal and cause a disruption to the residents along this stretch of roadway. “No Stopping or Standing” signs will enable the Police Department to warn and/or ticket violators with the goal being changing the behavior and eliminating 64 court as an unauthorized carpool lane for Gulliver. It should be noted that it will not prevent the momentary stop to allow a passenger to enter or exit the vehicle.
