Proclamation recognizing U.S. Constitution anniversary and significance

WHEREAS,on September 17, 1787, our Founding Fathers signed the Constitution of the United States establishing a framework for the foundation of our Nation’s Prosperity and liberties; and Whereas, this historic document is of central importance to our Nation and represents the timeless and enduring truths that inform the basic institutions of the American republic; and Whereas, it is fitting and proper to accord official recognition to this magnificent document and its memorable anniversary; and to the patriotic celebrations which all commemorate the occasion; and Whereas, in 1956, Constitution Week was commemorated by President Dwight D. Eisenhower from September 17 through September 23 and intended to be celebrated annually; and Whereas, Constitution Week in the Village of Pinecrest provides our residents opportunities to learn about the Constitution of the United States and reflect upon the unique principles of our great Nation;

Now, therefore, I, Joseph M. Corradino, Mayor of the Village of Pinecrest, Florida, on behalf of the Village Council and its citizens, do hereby proclaim the week of September 17—23, 2023 as U.S. Constitution Week In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Village Clerk to affix the Seal of the Village of Pinecrest, Florida this 16th day of September 2023 and do hereby encourage all citizens of the Village of Pinecrest to join me in reaffirming the ideals of the framers of the Constitution by vigilantly protecting the freedoms guaranteed to us by the Constitution of the United States of America and express gratitude for the privilege of American citizenship. _________________ Joseph M. Corradino Whereas, the multicultural people of the City of Pembroke Pines have a great tradition of celebrating significant milestones and events of historical importance, therefore, we are proud to join with our fellow Hindu American citizens throughout the Pembroke Pines area and beyond as they celebrate Hindu Heritage Month; and Whereas, Hinduism, the third-largest religion in the world with an estimated more than one (1) billion followers, has 2.51 million followers, the seventh-largest Hindu population comprising of 0.7% of total population in the United States; and Whereas, Hindu Americans have contributed to the community by excelling in the areas of education, business, law, medicine, science, and information technology; and Whereas, the Hindu heritage, culture, traditions, and values have enriched our great City by providing invaluable solutions to many of life’s problems and often serve as a source of inspiration, reflection, and contemplation for the millions of individuals who look to the teachings of Hinduism for guidance; and Whereas, our vibrant Hindu American community has contributed tremendously to the vibrancy and diversity of our great family-oriented City making It’s being named an “All-America City,” one of the top “100 Best Places to Live,” one of the “Most Integrated Communities” in South Florida, and “#1 in Florida as Best Place to Raise Your Kids “One of America’s Best Places to Live”; and Whereas, during the month of October-November 2023, the Hindu community will collectively celebrate its heritage by focusing on its culture and the diverse spiritual traditions rooted in Hinduism;

Now, therefore, I, Joseph M. Corradino, Mayor of the Village of Pinecrest, Florida, on behalf of the Village Council and its citizens, do hereby proclaim the month of October-November 2023 as: Hindu Heritage Month In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Village Clerk to affix the Seal of the Village of Pinecrest, Florida this 1st day of October, 2023 and do hereby encourage all citizens of the Village of Pinecrest to take time to recognize and participate and celebrate this special month. ___________________ Joseph M.
