Whereas, the Village of Pinecrest supports the efforts of St. Louis Covenant School and other local institutions to promote tolerance; and Whereas, education about the horrors of the Holocaust is critical to combating hate and protecting future generations; and Whereas, St. Louis Covenant School has worked with Hate End Now and Shadow Light to bring the Cattle Car Exhibit to Pinecrest; and

WHEREAS,the Village of Pinecrest supports the efforts of St. Louis Covenant School and other local institutions to promote tolerance; and Whereas, education about the horrors of the Holocaust is critical to combating hate and protecting future generations; and Whereas, St. Louis Covenant School has worked with Hate End Now and Shadow Light to bring the Cattle Car Exhibit to Pinecrest; and Whereas, the World War II-era Cattle Car provides a moving, first-hand experience to educate people of all generations about the tragedy and lessons of the Holocaust; and Whereas, the Cattle Car Exhibit serves as a powerful reminder of the atrocities of the Holocaust and the importance of remembering history to ensure such atrocities are never repeated;

Now, therefore, I, Joseph M. Corradino, Mayor of the Village of Pinecrest, Florida, on behalf of the Village Council and its citizens, do hereby proclaim Saturday, March 3, 2025, as Hate Ends Now Cattle Car Memorial Day In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Village Clerk to affix the Seal of the Village of Pinecrest, Florida, this 3rd day of March, 2025, and do hereby encourage all citizens of the Village of Pinecrest to join me in recognizing the Hate Ends Now Cattle Car Exhibit. Joseph M. Corradino Mayor Whereas, the Village of Pinecrest supports the efforts of local organizations to promote tolerance and combat hate; and Whereas, for 20 years since its founding by Ruth Gordon, the Holocaust Impact Theater (HIT) has used drama to teach the community about the horrors of the Holocaust and the lessons of understanding; and Whereas, through HIT, local high school students write, produce, perform, and direct original plays surrounding modern-day issues of injustice while reflecting on stories of the Holocaust and its survivors; and Whereas, for two (2) decades, countless teens from Pinecrest have played active roles in HIT, helping to make our community a better and more tolerant place;

Now, therefore, I, Joseph M. Corradino, Mayor of the Village of Pinecrest, Florida, on behalf of the Village Council and its citizens, do hereby proclaim Saturday, March 8, 2025, as Holocaust Impact Theater Day In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Village Clerk to affix the Seal of the Village of Pinecrest, Florida, this 8th day of March, 2025, and do hereby encourage all citizens of the Village of Pinecrest to join me in recognizing the Holocaust Impact Theater. Joseph M. Corradino Mayor Whereas, Ana Capri Italian Restaurant has been a cherished part of the Pinecrest community for 35 years, offering authentic Italian cuisine and creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for countless patrons; and Whereas, Giuseppe and Marie Zuozo, the proud owners of Ana Capri, have dedicated their lives to bringing the rich culinary traditions of Italy to South Florida, combining fresh ingredients, family recipes, and unmatched hospitality; and Whereas, Through their hard work and commitment, Giuseppe and Marie Zuozo have not only built a thriving business but also created a gathering place where friends, families, and neighbors come together to celebrate life’s moments over exceptional meals; and Whereas, Ana Capri Italian Restaurant has become a cornerstone of the Pinecrest dining scene, recognized for its excellence in service, quality, and authenticity, enriching the community with its vibrant flavors and warm ambiance; and Whereas, Ana Capri celebrates this significant milestone, we honor the legacy that Giuseppe and Marie Zuozo have established and acknowledge the positive impact they continue to have on Pinecrest and beyond;

Now, therefore, I, Joseph M. Corradino, Mayor of the Village of Pinecrest, Florida, on behalf of the Village Council and its citizens, do hereby recognize and congratulate Ana Capri Italian Restaurant On the Occasion of its 35th Anniversary In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Village Clerk to affix the Seal of the Village of Pinecrest, Florida, this 24th day of March, 2025, and do hereby encourage all citizens of the Village of Pinecrest to join me in celebrating this remarkable achievement and to continue supporting this beloved local institution for many years to come. Corradino Mayor Whereas, colorectal cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States among men and women combined; and Whereas, screening for colorectal cancer can lead to earlier detection and save lives by allowing for the prevention and treatment of this disease; and Whereas, although colorectal cancer is one the few cancers that can be prevented by timely screening it is estimated that only one in three people who are eligible for screening are doing so; and Whereas, colorectal cancer is expected to account for 11% of cancer deaths among Hispanic men and 9% of cancer deaths for Hispanic women; and Whereas, the national goal established by the National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable is to strive to increase timely colorectal cancer screening rates to 80 percent in every community for all Americans eligible for screening; and Whereas, the late City of Aventura Commissioner Michael Stern, a champion for research and prevention, served as an advocate of Fight Colorectal Cancer to increase awareness and offer education on the importance of early detection and screening of colorectal cancer; and Whereas, observing a Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month during the month of March would continue City of Aventura Commissioner Stern’s legacy by providing a special opportunity to increase awareness and offer education on the importance of early detection and screening of colorectal cancer;

Now, therefore, I, Joseph M. Corradino, Mayor of the Village of Pinecrest, Florida, on behalf of the Village Council and its citizens, do hereby proclaim March 2025 as Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Village Clerk to affix the Seal of the Village of Pinecrest, Florida this March, 2025 and do hereby encourage all citizens of Pinecrest to join me in recognizing Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. _________________ Joseph M. Corradino Mayor Whereas, the Athletic Trainers Association of Florida, Inc. (ATAF) was founded in 1983 as an organization committed to the education of its members and the enhancement of the profession of athletic training, creating better health care for the population it serves; and Whereas, Athletic Trainers from professional, collegiate, high school, and club sports teams; industries; hospitals and physician offices; rehabilitation clinics; collegiate and secondary school education; public safety (including law enforcement and fire rescue/first responders); and every branch of the United States military work together to promote and practice the profession of athletic training within the Village of Pinecrest; and Whereas, Athletic Trainers are highly qualified, multi-skilled health care professionals who specialize in immediate, acute and emergency care; examination, assessment and diagnosis; injury prevention; risk management; therapeutic intervention; and rehabilitation of injury and illness; and Whereas, National Athletic Training Month (NATM) is held every March in order to spread awareness about the important work of athletic trainers. and Whereas, it is the desire of the Village of Pinecrest to promote improved health care for athletes and all of those who engage in physical activity;

Now, therefore, I, Joseph M. Corradino, Mayor of the Village of Pinecrest, Florida, on behalf of the Village Council and its citizens, do hereby proclaim the month of March as National Athletic Training Month In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Village Clerk to affix the Seal of the Village of Pinecrest, Florida, this 1st day of March, 2025, and do hereby encourage all citizens of the Village of Pinecrest to join me in recognizing Athletic Trainers for their honorable work in providing an unparalleled continuum of care to their patients and keeping our community healthy.
