Adopt parking restrictions on Southwest 102 Street during school hours

RESOLUTION NO. 2024- A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF PINECREST, FLORIDA, ADOPTING PARKING RESTRICTIONS ALONG SOUTHWEST 102 STREET, FROM SOUTHWEST 58 COURT TO SOUTHWEST 57 AVENUE, PURSUANT TO ORDINANCE 2001-6; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Village Manager has recommended parking restrictions during school hours along Southwest 102 Street, from Southwest 58 Court to Southwest 57 Avenue; and WHEREAS, the Village Council finds that adopting the Village Manager’s recommendation is in the best interest of the safety and welfare of the citizens and residents of the Village of Pinecrest;

NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF PINECREST, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the following parking restrictions are hereby adopted pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance 2001-6: Parking shall be restricted on the specified roadway as follows: (1) Parking shall be prohibited during school days during the arrival and dismissal hours of 7 am - 9 am and 1 pm - 4 pm., along Southwest 102 Street, from Southwest 58 Court to Southwest 57 Avenue; Section 2. She advised that parking along that street during arrival and dismissal time caused a back-up of the carpool flow and limited access for teachers to turn into and out of the employ parking lot. Her preference is that parents only park in the designated area along 57 Avenue. I hereby recommend the Village Council designate the above referenced section of 102 Street as no parking during school days during the arrival and dismissal hours of 7 am - 9 am and 1 pm - 4 pm. The restriction would affect both the north and south side of the street from 58 Court to 57 Avenue. /yg
