DATE: September 1, 2023 TO: The Honorable Mayor and Members of the Village Council FROM: Yocelyn Galiano, ICMA-CM, Village Manager RE: Resolution Authorizing an Agreement with Red Line Iguana Removal for Peacock Trapping Services On March 14, 2023, Village Council adopted the 2023 Strategic Plan which included the strategic objective of developing and implementing a peafowl management program. Funding for this program is included in the fiscal year 2023-24 budget. The Village requested proposals from companies specializing in trapping peafowl. As a result, four proposals were received: 1. Second 2 None Trapping: $75 per peafowl 2. Red Line Iguana Removal: $135 per peafowl; $100 after the first 100 peafowl trapped 3. Affordable Wildlife Removal: $160 per peafowl 4. Animal Rangers, Inc.: $50 per peafowl, plus a $9,500 monthly fee, $8,000 set up fee and a $1,000 fee for preliminary research Although Second 2 None Trapping had the lowest pricing, they have since been unresponsive. I hereby respectfully recommend the Village Council adopt the attached resolution authorizing the Village Manager to enter into an agreement with Red Line Iguana Removal for Trapping Services for the Pinecrest Peafowl Mitigation Program. If this Resolution is approved, this agreement will be executed after the final budget hearing. THIS PAGE INTENTIONALLY BLANK RESOLUTION NO. 2023- A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF PINECREST, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH RED LINE IGUANA REMOVAL FOR PEACOCK TRAPPING SERVICES; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF PINECREST, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the Village Manager is hereby authorized to negotiate an agreement with Red Line Iguana Removal for Peacock Trapping Services for the Pinecrest Peafowl Mitigation Program. Section 2. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 12th day of September, 2023. Joseph M.
