Proclamations

WHEREAS,Shannon del Prado has a long history of volunteerism in the community, including serving as past Vice President and Treasurer of the Palmetto High PTSA, Co-Chair of the Palmetto Elementary Science Task Force, and Board Member of the Palmetto Elementary ACT Committee; and Whereas, Shannon del Prado was elected to Council Seat 3 in 2020 with more than 60% of the votes, following her prior service on the Zoning Board, demonstrating her strong commitment to local governance; and Whereas, Shannon del Prado, as a result of her service, was re-elected to Council Seat 3 in 2024 with more than 66% of the votes; and Whereas, Shannon del Prado played an integral leadership role in the Pinecrest zoning referendum, leading the opposition to a successful outcome with more than 67% of the vote; and Whereas, Shannon del Prado has been the driving force behind creative initiatives, including the Peacock Program and the Composting Program; and Whereas,, Shannon del Prado has consistently demonstrated reasonable, thoughtful, and rational leadership, remaining accessible to her constituents and providing the highest quality of service; and Whereas, Shannon del Prado has been instrumental in preserving Pinecrest’s character while enhancing the community’s overall quality of life.

Now, therefore, I, Joseph M.
