BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF PINECREST, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the Village Council hereby accepts a donation from the Howard Palmetto Baseball Softball Association (HPBSA) valued at $5,000.00, for outfield baseball fences. Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of January, 2026. Joseph M. Corradino, Mayor Attest: Priscilla Torres, MMC Village Clerk Approved as to Form and Legal Sufficiency Mitchell Bierman Village Attorney Consent Agenda DATE: January 9, 2026 TO: Yocelyn Galiano, ICMA-CM, Village Manager FROM: Robert C. Mattes, CPRE, CPSI, Parks and Recreation Director RE: Baseball Fence Donation The Pinecrest Parks and Recreation Department respectfully requests that the Village accept the donation of outfield fences valued at $5,000 from the Howard Palmetto Baseball Softball Association (HPBSA) as stated in the Letter of Donation from HPBSA. We have enjoyed a longstanding and positive relationship with HPBSA and deeply appreciate their generosity. These fences will replace aging outfield fencing at Evelyn Greer Park, ensuring a proper baseball outfield for all user groups and patrons who utilize the facilities. Last year, the department successfully replaced aging fences at Suniland Park, and this donation will further support our commitment to maintaining high-quality recreational spaces. Letter of Donation Mr. Robert Mattes Village of Pinecrest 12645 Pinecrest Parkway Pinecrest, Florida 33156 Dear Robert Mattes, Howard Palmetto Baseball is pleased to provide an in-kind donation of $5,000 to the Village of Pinecrest Parks and Recreation Department (the “Village”) that will be used towards the Village’s fence project. We are happy to prepare a check payable directly to your fence contractor, Island Fence of Dade, towards the completion of the project. Please note that we are not directly contracting with the Island Fence of Dade. Island Fence of Dade will be directly engaged by the Village to design and execute this project and as such, Howard Palmetto Baseball & Softball Association does not assume any liability or responsibility for the timing of the execution of the project, workmanship of the fence installation or subsequent maintenance thereof. This contribution reflects our organization’s commitment to supporting safe, well-maintained athletic facilities that serve youth players and the Pinecrest community. The installation of an outfield fence will enhance field functionality, improve safety, and support organized league play. We appreciate the Village of Pinecrest’s ongoing partnership and dedication to youth recreation. Howard Palmetto Baseball is proud to assist with this improvement and look forward to continued collaboration in support of local sports programs. Thank you for your consideration and for the opportunity to contribute to this project. Respectfully, Sergio Negreira, CPA Treasurer, Howard Palmetto Baseball & Softball Association CC: Joshua Carrol, President
