More than 15 Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) units alongside the Florida Forest Service responded on Sunday, May 24, at 2:24 p.m., to a First Alarm grass fire near SW 120th Street and 137th Avenue.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy smoke and active flames. Due to the size of the fire and the need to protect nearby areas, the incident was upgraded to a Second Alarm, bringing in additional resources. Crews remained on scene, positioned around the fire perimeter to protect nearby structures and roadways while continuing suppression efforts.
