Father killed 2 daughters, their mother before dying by suicide: sheriff
Authorities said the incident remains under investigation.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office said 42-year-old Ryan Charles Whiten, his daughters — 11-year-old Savannah Whiten and 8-year-old Sienna Whiten — and their mother, 46-year-old Melanie Lauren Hyer, were found dead in a Doral home after deputies conducted a welfare check.
"The investigation revealed that Mr. Whiten committed these heinous acts and then took his own life," the sheriff's office said in aAccording to deputies, preliminary findings indicate all four sustained stab wounds, and homicide detectives believe the deaths were the result of a murder-suicide. …
