FHSAA's new rules about transfer students leaves questions unanswered
The Florida High School Athletic Association's board of directors passed new bylaws concerning non-traditional students and transfers on June 9.
The Florida High School Athletic Association's Board of Directors approved the proposed bylaws for the new rules concerning non-traditional student athletes transferring .
The bylaws are the FHSAA's plan to enforce SB 538, which Gov. Ron Desantis signed into law on May 22 at Ribault High School in Jacksonville. The bill, which also opens a path to increase coach pay, will requires non-traditional student-athletes to play sports at a high school in the county in which they reside.
