Florida teen ordered to jail in sister's cruise ship killing, what's next
Charging the teen as an adult changed the stakes, leading a judge to jail him as prosecutors argue he poses a danger.
A federal judge has ordered the 16-year-old stepbrother of slain Titusville teen Anna Kepner back into federal custody , reversing an earlier decision allowing him to live with an uncle while awaiting trial for sexual assault and murder.
The teen, who is not being named by USA TODAY because of his age, was indicted as an adult in April by a federal grand jury on murder in the first degree and aggravated sexual abuse charges in connection with the Nov. 7 death of his 18-year-old stepsister aboard the Carnival Horizon cruise ship. The teen suspect's mother is married to Anna Kepner's father.
