Faulty valve spews 6,500 gallons of treated wastewater
Two wastewater spills occurred in Tallahassee within one week, including thousands of gallons of treated wastewater.
Roughly 6,500 gallons of treated wastewater showered over the city's Southeast Farm, the second reported spill within a week.
On June 15, crews working on the farm saw a "compromised valve" spewing reclaimed water onto the spray field. The valve that failed at the T P Smith Water Reclamation Facility on Tram Road was quickly shut down and replaced, according to pollution notice from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
