Efforts are continuing to extinguish the two fires currently burning. The largest, known as the Quarry 2 Fire, near Northwest 137th Avenue and 41st Street, now covers 15,900 acres and is 70% contained. The other, the Well Fire, between Northwest 122nd Avenue and Northwest 58th Street, has burned 500 acres and is 25% contained. 200 people from an RV park had to be evacuated. A section of Krome Avenue remains closed to traffic.
Firefighters are warning of the risks of flying embers and smoke, which have spread as far as Broward County. …
