West Marine files bankruptcy. One SW Florida location is closing

West Marine , the largest boating and marine supply chain in the United States, is closing dozens of stores , including one in Southwest Florida, as part of a restructuring. The company filed for voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy last month.
The Fort Lauderdale-based company will be shuttering 59 stores, including 8 in Florida, according to court filings . The sole Tallahassee location closed in December 2024. Closing dates have not yet been announced.
