GRANVILLE, W.Va. -- By the time the rain came in the eighth inning Saturday, West Virginia’s first trip to Omaha felt less like a question than a countdown.
The Mountaineers had already hit five home runs, stolen home twice, turned a one-run deficit into a 16-run lead, broken the school record for wins in a season and filled Kendrick Family Ballpark beyond anything the facility had officially seen before.
