Florida to increase scrutiny of Medicaid providers over next two years
State officials say enhanced enforcement has already recovered $136 million.
SARASOTA, Fla. ( WWSB ) - Florida officials said Medicaid providers will face increased scrutiny over the next two years as the state expands efforts to identify and prevent fraud in the program.
Siobhan Harris, secretary of the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration, said Florida Medicaid covers nearly 4 million recipients. She said protecting the program is critical for the people who rely on it.
