DeSantis expands 'anti-woke' Florida college to triple its size in 'grift' deal
A once-liberal college in Florida that was taken over by right-wing governor, Ron DeSantis, will acquire another small school, expanding its territory
The New College of Florida, taken over by Florida’s right-wing governor, Ron DeSantis, is set to "triple in size" after state Republicans moved to take control of a rival university’s campus.
On Wednesday, the University of South Florida’s Board of Trustees voted to approve moving its Sarasota-Manatee campus to New College of Florida. The now-conservative New College will acquire more than 32 acres of land and facilities, including needed student housing, and assume $53 million in campus-related debt.
