'Pride' or 'Faith' month? City, county and DeSantis offer dueling declarations
Tallahassee and Leon County officials issued Pride Month proclamations days after Gov. DeSantis declared June to be Faith and Family Month.
Just days after Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a proclamation designating June as "Faith and Family" Month, both the city of Tallahassee and Leon County are standing with the local LGBTQ+ community as they debut proclamations celebrating Pride Month.
In his proclamation signed on Monday, DeSantis says "faith is a foundational element that provides strength, hope and moral guidance." The proclamation coincides with Pride Month, celebrated in June.
