Sen. Carlos Guillermo Smith and the West Central Florida Labor Council, AFL-CIO, are backing Luis Salazar in the crowded Democratic Primary for House District 64.
The endorsements give Salazar support from both one of Florida’s most prominent progressive lawmakers and organized labor as Democrats fight to reclaim the Tampa-based seat now held by term-limited Republican Rep. Susan Valdés — who recently filed for a Hillsborough County Commission race but withdrew , citing family health reasons.
