Dennis Michael Sochor is scheduled to be put to death in July for the 1981 rape and murder of 18-year-old Patricia Gifford.
Six months into the year, Gov. Ron DeSantis has signed his 11th death warrant for 2026. The state is scheduled to execute a Broward County man convicted of strangling 18-year-old Patricia Gifford in 1981.
Dennis Michael Sochor, 74, met Gifford at a bar during a New Year's celebration and took her with his brother to get breakfast, court records show, but instead took her to a secluded area.
