Republican Lt. Gov. Jay Collins has officially qualified, ensuring he will be on the ballot in August’s Republican Gubernatorial Primary.
Originally from Montana, Collins is a 20-year Army Special Forces veteran and Green Beret Medic. While serving in Afghanistan, he helped perform surgery on himself in the field after being shot in the arm, and a separate injury later forced him to amputate his leg.
