City commission OKs across-the-board raises despite potential tax cuts
Tallahassee approved a 4% salary increase for all city employees even as proposed property tax cuts threaten millions in city revenue.
The city is moving forward with a 4% salary increase from top to bottom even in the face of proposed property tax cuts that some municipalities say will create a "fiscal crisis."
The roughly $8.5 million set aside for "salary enhancements" would be the sixth consecutive across-the-board raise for city employees, including those at the top making six figure salaries.
