MOBILE, Ala. ( WALA ) - A Wilmer man is invoking Alabama’s “Stand Your Ground” law in arguing that animal cruelty charges should be dismissed.
Cody Monroe Brown, 22, faces charges of reckless endangerment and aggravated cruelty to animals. Prosecutors allege that he shot two dogs with a crossbow. But defense attorney Buzz Jordan argues in a court filing that “the dogs were the initial aggressors.”
