OMISSION ROUNDUP: ICE Funding Passes, Walz & Ellison Referral to DoJ
OMISSION ROUNDUP: ICE Funding Passes, Walz & Ellison Referral to DoJ The Elitist Media Network Evening News betrayed their overt biases by choosing once again to omit several key news stories from their viewers. As always, what the networks choose to air is almost as important as what they choose NOT to air. The nation’s immigration enforcement services are finally funded, breaking an impasse that led to a lengthy government shutdown and thousands of government employees to go without pay. Per Fox News : Republicans’ sweeping immigration enforcement and border security package cleared the House on Tuesday, ending a months-long standoff with Democrats over funding President Donald Trump's immigration crackdown agenda. The $70 billion immigration enforcement measure passed 214-212 over the fierce objections of Democrats, who unanimously voted against the package. Rep. Kevin Kiley, I-Calif., an independent who caucuses with Republicans, also joined Democrats in opposing the measure. Meanwhile, every GOP lawmaker present voted for the Senate-passed legislation, which funds Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) through fiscal year 2029. The Elitist Media feasted off of this story so long as TSA workers were going without paying their bills and partaking in food drives. Airport chaos led many a newscast, especially when people were either waiting for six hours or missing their flights altogether in places like Houston, Atlanta, and New Orleans. The networks never did blame Democrat intransigence for the defunding of ICE, instead choosing to frame it as a necessary protest of the border policies that the American people voted for. Another major story skipped by the Elitist Media Evening News: Vice President JD Vance referring Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison to the Department of Justice for investigation pertaining to their potential roles in the state’s ongoing fraud scandal. Per The New York Post : Vice President JD Vance referred Minnesota state officials, including Democratic Gov. Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison, to the Justice Department for investigation and potential prosecution following the release of a blistering House Oversight Committee report examining benefit fraud in the state. On Sunday, the Oversight panel had sent a letter to Vance, who helms the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud , urging him to further probe Minnesota. “I’ve referred these allegations to DOJ’s new Fraud Division for criminal investigation,” Vance posted on X Monday evening. “Minnesota state officials are not above the law, and if they facilitated fraud, lied under oath about what they knew, or harassed and [intimidated] whistleblowers, they must face justice.” This was a story that the Elitist Media Evening News were slow to get to, as it dovetailed with immigration enforcement in Minneapolis, and with known massive fraud within its Somali community. The networks reluctantly covered the story when omission was no longer feasible. The latest referral by Vice President Vance has drawn no coverage except for a 28-second burial on the 5AM hour of CBS Morning News: WATCH: VP Vance's referral of MN Gov, Tim Walz and AG Keith Ellison to the DoJ related to ongoing fraud scandals has drawn no coverage on the network evening news- and only this 28-second burial on the 5AM hour of CBS News Mornings: MIKE GEORGE: Vice President JD Vance has... pic.twitter.com/URdjR9EgQa — Jorge Bonilla (@BonillaJL) June 10, 2026 MIKE GEORGE: Vice President JD Vance has triggered a federal fraud probe against Minnesota Governor and former election rival Tim Walz. The move stems from a House Oversight report, which claims fraud warnings related to federal programs in Minnesota were ignored by top state officials. Walz has denied the allegations. Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison is also a target of the probe. The vice president heads the administration’s anti-fraud task force. That’s it. Nothing on this or on the funding of ICE on the network evening news. ABC went instead for a Florida manslaughter trial related to a boating accident and an Air Canada pilot arrested for flying with a fake license. CBS went with Rob Reiner’s son trying to dip into his trust fund for legal expenses, and FDA approval of a sunscreen already in use in Europe and Asia. NBC went with a shark bite and a Jeep recall. Once again, the Elitist Media shows you that the most important stories are often the ones you don’t see on the network evening news. We are reminded once again that bias by omission is the most insidious.
