The newest Costco Wholesale warehouse opened in Pensacola on June 25, greeting a packed parking lot and swarms of shoppers eager to nab great deals, cheap rotisserie chickens, and $1.50 hot dog specials. The store even opened 25 minutes early, right after the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The popular discount grocer and retailer has big plans for Florida as part of its general expansion goal of 30 new stores a year nationwide and widespread delivery , according to CEO Ron Vachris in a March 5 earnings call .
