As his tenure ends, Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings said Orange County — home to nearly 1.6 million people — is investing in parks and fighting homelessness while also recruiting major sporting events to Orlando and offering a new film incentive to spur future economic development.
“I am confident in the path ahead and the continued growth of Orange County,” Demings said Friday during his final State of the County speech. He has led the county government since December 2018. “It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve as your Mayor, and I am forever grateful for the opportunity.”
