Gaetz made the announcement in a post to X on Tuesday afternoon, in which he shared a screenshot of a document from Florida House Speaker Daniel Perez appointing him to the Triumph Gulf Coast board of directors. Triumph is a Florida nonprofit that oversees distribution of billions of dollars in Deepwater Horizon oil spill settlement funds. The appointment represents Gaetz's first formal public role since leaving Congress.
