A freshman lawmaker who turned her trauma into landmark legislation is being recognized for it on a statewide stage.
Lake Worth Democratic Rep. Debra Tendrich has been named the 2026 “Florida Elected Official of the Year” by the Florida Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers ( NASW-FL ), which represents some 3,000 professional social workers statewide.
